It was party night at The Barge and a large enthusiastic crowd, supporters old and new enjoyed an evening of pure rock and roll. As always the choice of numbers played suited all tastes – The Killers’ All These Things was well received and the dance floor took a lot of stick! An excellent venue for live music, the customers obviously appreciate good music and an enthusiastic crowd turned out on a wet and windy evening to sing and dance with ‘the boys’. I always look forward to BIG NOISE hosting Thursdays at the Barge - they never disappoint. Simon (Vocals/guitar), Stuart(Guitar/Vocals), Ian(Bass/Vocals) and Lee(Drums) make a great team. From Neil Young to the Kinks, Paul Weller to Rory Gallagher, Simon's dulcet tones do justice to every number, plus you are always guaranteed merriment and mirth. Jam Nights are all about experimenting, and the usually quiet and reserved Stuart pleasured us(!) with a never-before heard version of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Lurve". Which was nice! This is a must-see band. Check them out. |
